E-commerce & VTAs


The distribution of tourist services is a business that has experienced a greater increase in sales over the Internet. The e-commerce is a vital instrument for the activity of these companies.
In the beginning, the product that was offered airfare, but thanks to a sophisticated technology has been able to accommodate all types of travel (transportation, hotels, vacation packages and tours, car rentals, cruises, activities and shows, restaurants).
Internet is the primary means by which the rows communicate with their customers. The number of travel-related websites has grown rapidly in recent years and competition is more intense than ever. Customers with a favourable first impression to the site selected are more likely to stay on it to carry out a detailed search. Therefore, the company's goal is to get many visits to the website and, of course, process sales transactions.
To sum up, the way to do business in the tourism industry has changed dramatically due to advances in information technologies. Competition between the VTAs is increasingly intense, and hence it is essential to understand customers’ perception of the e-service quality.
